Our
mission can be summed up in the picture above our fireplace
mantle - a lighthouse standing strong in a raging sea. As a
family we want our lives to attract others to a growing relationship
with the Lord Jesus.
I experienced
Christ's love and forgiveness as a young child, but became
more serious about my relationship with Him at a crisis point
as a Sophomore in High School. I also sensed that the Lord
was leading me to serve Him in a vocational role. After graduating
from Midpark High School (1982), and attending an international
Christian school in Europe for a year, I enrolled at Columbia
International University (BA,1986; MA,1988), where the Lord
brought Mary and me together. We married in 1988, settling
in Nyack, New York, where we continued to prepare for ministry
at Alliance Theological Seminary (M.Div 1990).
After
8 years of pastoring in New York and New Jersey, the Lord
directed us back to Grace Church in March of 1998, giving
me the great privilege of investing in a church that had such
a shaping influence in my formative years. As Senior Pastor
I am involved in preaching and teaching, pastoral care, and
leadership development. Mary, our five children, and myself
are grateful to be part of a church that is reaching out into
our community and into our world to share the life-transforming
love and power of Christ.

My
wife and I have spent over half our lives in Cleveland pastoring
Grace Church. How thankful we are for this privilege and all
the joy and fulfillment we have had here! We were both born
and brought up in the shadow of New York City. Yet, our first
church was in the woods of north Wisconsin where there were
far more deer than people and snow on the ground almost six
months of the year. It was a drastic change from our birthplace,
but we loved the location and the people. Early in our lives
we volunteered to serve overseas as cross-cultural missionaries
but God closed that door to us. So we came to Cleveland in 1962
where our family grew from four to nine children. We now have
over two dozen grandchildren. We get great pleasure from our
grandchildren and children, our church, each other and even
Cleveland, though some refer to it as "the mistake on the
lake." As great as our delight is in all these, we have
a pleasure that far surpasses all of them knowing and serving
the greatest Person we know, the Lord Jesus Christ!

My
wife Jennifer and I enjoy ministering to youth (Sr. High - College)
through a variety of means. Interactive events, practical Bible
teachings, outreaches, missions projects, retreats, and summer
camps, are all designed to deepen youth in their love for Christ
and their love for others.
As a Sophomore in college, I made a decision to trust in Jesus
Christ when a person with Campus Crusade for Christ helped me
apply the Bible to my life. After graduating from Bowling Green
State University in 1976, I worked for 13 years at IBM in Systems
Engineering and Management.
Jennifer & I married in 1980 and we have four wonderful children
who partner with us in ministry. We started attending Grace
Church in 1977 where we grew spiritually and served in a variety
of capacities until 1988 when we began working with Sr. High
Youth. At God's leading Jennifer and I switched to full time
service two years later when a full-time position for Youth
Pastor opened up. The past ten years have been the richest years
of our lives as we see people's lives transformed by the power
of Christ.

Nancy
& I enjoy helping people feel at home at Grace and find
their niche in ministry. It's been a privilege to introduce
others to Christ and to see them deepen in their love for Him.
At the
age of five I trusted Christ but made a decision to follow
Him wholeheartedly my Sophomore year of High School. Upon
graduation from Oral Robert's University (BS,1985) I took
a sales position with NCR Corporation in Birmingham AL. Three
Years later I felt a growing desire to transition into ministry.
After a stint with Youth With a Mission, Nancy and I married
in 1990. We continued to prepare for ministry at Alliance
Theological Seminary (M.Div 1993).
During
the past eight years we have experienced the growth of Grace
Church, both with the birth of our three children and in the
lives of those we are privileged to serve in the area of Assimilation.

Serving
as a pastoral couple at Grace Church brings my wife and I
full circle in life and ministry. Both of us were raised in
Middleburg Heights/Berea. Within a year of becoming a Christian
at age 14, my family began attending Grace Church. Many major
events in my life took place at Grace: being baptized, teaching
my first Sunday school class, receiving my call to ministry,
meeting and being married to Marsha, preaching my first sermon
and serving my first ministry assignment (as a summer intern).
Marsha is a graduate of Berea HS and I am a graduate of Midpark.
We are both graduates of Fort Wayne Bible College (1974/1975).
I graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1979. We are
currently serving in our fifth pastoral ministry. Our three
daughters are active at Grace Church along with us.
As Pastor
of Christian Education, my primary role is to pilot the ministry
to children. The program encompasses a growing number of classes,
small groups, ministry teams and affinity groups. With a strong
and very capable team of leaders, teachers and parents, we
endeavor to guide children to know Jesus intimately and to
serve him wholeheartedly.
In addition
to the ministry at Grace Church, Marsha leads a missions-related
ministry for women. I serve in several Christian education
related ministries and conduct the Heart of a Teacher Workshop
to a growing number of churches and groups.
We are
incredibly blessed to be a part of the Grace Church family.

William
Booth, founder of the Salvation Army once wrote, "And now,
hallelujah, the rest of my days will be spent promoting His
praise." This is how my family and I approach ministry
at Grace Church. We live to praise God and share His love with
everyone we meet!
I grew up in a family who enjoyed music and loved the Lord,
but it wasn't until I was 13 that I personally realized God's
incredible love for me, received His forgiveness, and committed
to following Him all my life. As I continued to study music
at Asbury College, and then the Southern Baptist Theological
Seminary, I realized God was calling me to serve Him by leading
others to worship Him. This ministry has brought my family to
Louisville, KY (1983-87); Erie, PA (1987-1992); Mansfield, OH
(1992-1999); and now Grace Church in Cleveland.
Our ministry at Grace Church includes directing the Grace Choir,
leading the worship teams, planning worship services, and supervising
special music and worship events. All these can be effectively
used to help us experience God in worship.
It is a joy to serve with wonderful people in the family called
"Grace." Until we find ourselves in worship before
the throne of God in heaven, it is great to be able to spend
our days promoting His praise! |

I
came to Cleveland from my boyhood home in North Carolina in
1951 to begin a career in banking. The Korean War forced a two-year
interruption in that career at the request of the U.S. Army.
Upon my return, I met and married Grace in 1956. The ensuing
years have brought us 4 children and a dozen grandchildren that
continue to delight our lives day after day. After 35 years
in banking, we felt God calling us into full time ministry.
Early retirement enabled us to join Stewardship Ministries
of The Christian and Missionary Alliance (now The Orchard Foundation)
where we assisted friends and members of the Alliance
in gift and estate designs. During our more than 13 years in
that ministry, God gave us a real joy in working with senior
adults. For several years, we divided our time between The
Orchard Foundation and Forever Young, the core group
of senior adults at Grace Church. In the year 2000, we
sensed God would have us leave The Orchard Foundation
and join the staff at Grace Church as Pastor to Senior Adults.
It is our joy to work together with those age 50 and above in
coordinating the various small groups, Bible studies, Widow's
Fellowship, etc., that make up the ministries of Forever
Young. Our monthly meetings, usually a dinner on the second
Saturday evening of each month, involve seniors from all of
the various groups. |

To be
able to serve the Lord with the gifts he gives is one of the
greatest blessings anyone can receive. Joanna and I are truly
blessed to serve the Lord at Grace Church.
I received Christ in a Sunday School class at a very young
age, but struggled with my spiritual walk until I was a freshman
in college. It was then that I made a serious commitment to
serve Him and grow in my faith. At the same time I met Joanna
and it soon became very clear God was showing me how my life
was beginning to come together. We were married in June 1993
and shortly after started a family. Cameron Joshua was born
July 1994 and Paige Marissa in June 1996. We have been attending
Grace church since the Spring of 1995.
I graduated from the Cleveland School of Science (1991) and
received a BA in accounting from Cleveland State University
(1997). As Administrator of Grace Church I enjoy managing
the support staff, facility and grounds and providing over-site
to several ministries. I am excited about the work the Lord
is doing here and look forward to growing with you! God Bless!
Joanna
and I are truly blessed to serve the Lord at Grace Church.

Jr.
High
Research indicates that a person 19 or older has a 6% probability
of receiving Jesus as Savior. That's why Nicole and I enjoy
the fun high-paced ministry with junior high students. We
desire to create an environment where kids are safe to be
who they are, free to find out what they think about God (and
what He thinks about them), and develop friendships that will
last through these critical years.
Young Adult Singles
Over 50% of the adult population in the United States are
single verses 30 years ago when it was less than 25%. As pastor
to young adults at Grace Church, my desire is to develop a
community of adult singles ages 22-35 who seek to live by
the truth of God's Word and desire to reach other adult singles
in their sphere of influence.
My Story of Faith
After considering a relationship with Christ for 2 years,
as a senior in high school, I decided to make Him my Savior
and Lord. It was then I knew I would eventually serve Christ
in a full-time capacity. After graduating from Bowling Green
State University and marrying Nicole shortly after, I spent
a little over 2 years as an accountant with Crowe Chizek before
joining the staff team at Grace Church in January of 2001.
I am currently taking classes at Trinity Evangelical Divinity
School to obtain a Masters of Religious Studies. Nicole and
I are also enjoying the blessing of our son Brandon, the first
addition to the family. To be able to serve the Lord with
the gifts he gives is one of the greatest blessings anyone
can receive.
